Ephesians 2:4–6
“But God, who is rich in mercy… hath quickened us together with Christ… and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”

Paul interrupts the darkness of human sin with two of the most hopeful words in Scripture: But God. Resurrection life begins not with human resolve, but with divine mercy.

To be “quickened” means to be made alive. Resurrection is not merely future—it is present. Believers have already crossed from death to life spiritually. Salvation is not probation—it is resurrection.

Paul emphasizes togetherness. We are made alive with Christ, raised with Christ, seated with Christ. Resurrection life is shared life. Identity is no longer defined by what we were, but by where we now belong.

Being seated in heavenly places does not remove us from earthly struggle—but it changes our perspective within it. Resurrection identity anchors us above the chaos, not outside it.

This truth speaks gently to those who feel spiritually behind or unworthy. Resurrection life is not earned—it is granted. Mercy, not merit, brings us here.

Thursday calls us to remember who we are. Not condemned. Not abandoned. Not barely surviving. Alive. Raised. Secure.

Because Christ lives, you are not merely forgiven—you are alive with Him.
