Theme Verse: “For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.” — Philippians 3:20

When you were saved, your spiritual address changed. You may live in a house on a street with a city and ZIP code, but your true citizenship is in heaven. Paul reminds us in Philippians 3:20 that our “conversation” (citizenship, way of life) is not rooted in the shifting systems of earth, but in the unshakable kingdom of God. We are not merely Americans, or any other nationality—we are sons and daughters of the Most High, called to live as pilgrims, strangers, and sojourners in this world.

Understanding this truth changes how we live. It changes how we vote, speak, spend, serve, and suffer. Our ultimate loyalty is not to a political party or a cultural movement, but to King Jesus. That doesn’t mean we don’t engage with the world around us—it means we engage differently. We don’t place our hope in earthly kingdoms, because we know they will pass away. We live in the now with the next in view—always looking for the return of our Savior.

As heavenly citizens, our lives should carry the aroma of a better country. When the world sees our marriages, they should glimpse Christ and the Church. When they watch us endure suffering, they should witness hope. When they hear our speech, it should be gracious and full of truth. We are not undercover Christians—we are public representatives of the King. In how we live and how we love, we are meant to display the beauty of our homeland.

This perspective should also anchor us in peace. When our nation seems to spiral, when elections stir fear, or when culture turns hostile to biblical values, we remember that our God is not up for re-election. His throne is settled. We are not called to panic or retreat, but to remain steadfast and faithful in the middle of a stormy world. Heaven’s government is not shaken by earth’s chaos.

So today, remember where you’re from—and where you're going. Let your life reflect the values of your true homeland. Let your conduct be worthy of the gospel you profess. You are Heaven’s representative, and this world—no matter how loud or divided—is not your final home.
