Hebrews 2:14–15
“That through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”

The resurrection does not pretend death is insignificant—it proves it is defeated. Scripture does not deny death’s terror or weight. It acknowledges its power and names its author. Christ confronted death directly and emerged victorious.

Hebrews tells us how Christ conquered death—by entering it. He did not avoid mortality; He embraced it. Through death, He destroyed the devil’s claim. The resurrection announces that the enemy’s greatest weapon has been rendered powerless.

The fear of death enslaves humanity. It drives anxiety, ambition, control, and despair. Resurrection breaks that bondage. Believers no longer live under death’s shadow—we live in resurrection light.

This victory reshapes daily life. We do not deny grief, but we grieve with hope. We do not ignore loss, but we face it with confidence. Resurrection joy is not loud denial—it is quiet assurance rooted in Christ’s triumph.

Christ’s victory also redefines courage. When death no longer holds final authority, obedience becomes freer. Fear loses leverage. Resurrection power strengthens faithfulness even in suffering.

Friday invites reflection. What fears still bind you? What anxieties whisper finality? The risen Christ speaks a better word. Death has been confronted—and it has lost.

April begins not with denial of hardship, but with declaration of victory. Death is defeated. Fear is broken. And life—true life—has triumphed.
