Church programs and youth groups are wonderful, but they were never meant to replace the primary discipleship that happens at home. God’s design has always been that parents—especially fathers—lead their children spiritually. Deuteronomy 6:6–7 commands, “And these words… thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them… when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.”

Discipleship isn’t a one-time event—it’s a lifestyle. It’s modeling what it looks like to follow Jesus day by day. When children see their parents reading Scripture, praying together, repenting when they sin, and living with purpose, those daily moments become eternal investments.

You don’t need to be a Bible scholar to disciple your children. You just need a heart that is growing in Christ and a willingness to invite your children into that journey. Ask them spiritual questions. Pray with them about their struggles. Celebrate when they obey the Lord. Correct with Scripture and grace.

Remember, the home is the first mission field. What you pour into your children spiritually is building a legacy that will outlast your lifetime. Start small, stay faithful, and trust God with the results.
