Psalm 66:10–12
“For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.”
Some of the hardest battles are fought where no one sees them. Psalm 66 reminds us that God allows private testing not to crush His people, but to refine them. Faith that endures is often formed in places hidden from public view.
Refining fire is controlled fire. God does not test recklessly or excessively. He knows exactly how much heat is required to purify without destroying. Enduring faith trusts the Refiner’s hand even when the fire feels intense.
These trials are not signs of abandonment; they are evidence of God’s investment. He refines what He values. Faith that endures learns to interpret pressure as purposeful rather than punitive.
Private battles shape public strength. What God forms in secret eventually sustains us in visible moments of responsibility. Endurance built quietly carries weight later.
If you are struggling privately today, know this: God sees, God knows, and God is working. Faith that endures believes refinement is never wasted.
