Busyness is one of the greatest threats to spiritual health in today’s families. We rush from work to sports to school to church—and often, God is squeezed out. Yet Jesus said in Matthew 6:33, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” The first step to a strong home is putting first things first.
Establishing godly priorities doesn’t mean eliminating every activity—it means ensuring that your calendar reflects your convictions. Make time for family worship, church, rest, and service. Don’t sacrifice spiritual growth for temporary success. A full schedule is not the same as a faithful life.
Take time to regularly reassess: What’s shaping our home right now—God’s Word or the culture’s noise? Are we more concerned with appearances or obedience? What’s getting our best energy: work, hobbies, or our walk with God?
When Christ is the cornerstone and everything else is ordered around Him, peace follows. Your family doesn’t need more stuff or more events—it needs more of Jesus. Set the tone, make hard choices if needed, and lead your home to pursue what matters most.
