Revelation 1:7 — “Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.”

John declares that Christ is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him. Unlike His first coming, witnessed by few, His return will be visible to all. Gratitude grows when we realize that His coming will vindicate His people and reveal His glory universally.

Those who pierced Him will see Him. The enemies of Christ will face judgment, while His followers will rejoice. Gratitude humbles us, reminding us that once we were His enemies, yet by grace we are now His people.

The response of the earth will be mixed—some will wail in dread, while others will cry “Amen” in joy. Gratitude prepares us to welcome Him with gladness, knowing we are secure in His love.

The clouds signify majesty, recalling the cloud of God’s presence in the Old Testament. His return will be wrapped in divine glory. Gratitude fills our hearts when we remember that the King of kings will not return in secret but in splendor.

For pastors, this passage is a call to preach urgency. For the flock, it is a call to live faithfully. Gratitude steadies our hearts as we wait for the day every eye beholds Him.

Christmas points us to His first coming, but Revelation reminds us of His second. Gratitude bridges the manger and the clouds, looking back in worship and forward in hope.
