Romans 12:4–5 — “For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.”
God’s wisdom is not only displayed in individual lives but in the community of believers. The church is described as a body with many members, each different yet united in purpose. This design reflects God’s perfect wisdom, as diversity and unity come together in Christ.
Each believer has unique gifts and roles, none greater or lesser in value. The hand cannot say to the eye, “I have no need of you.” Likewise, no Christian can claim independence from the body. Wisdom teaches us to honor one another, serve with humility, and recognize that we belong to each other.
Division arises when pride and comparison replace humility and gratitude. But when we walk in wisdom, we see the beauty of God’s design: every part contributing, every member serving, every gift building up the body. Harmony comes when Christ is the head and love is the motive.
The church, functioning in wisdom, becomes a powerful witness to the world. Unity amidst diversity, love amidst differences, and service amidst sacrifice reflect the wisdom of God in a way no philosophy can explain. It is a testimony that the gospel truly transforms lives.
On this Lord’s Day, let us thank God for placing us in the body of Christ. Let us walk wisely, using our gifts for His glory and serving one another in love. In the body, we see the wisdom of God made visible.
