Romans 15:14 — “And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.”

Goodness is more than simply being nice. It is moral excellence—living in a way that reflects the holy character of God. When Paul commended the believers in Rome for being “full of goodness,” he was affirming that their lives bore witness to the Spirit’s transforming work.

Goodness shows itself in action. It feeds the hungry, comforts the broken, and stands for what is right even when it costs something. It is courage and compassion woven together. Jesus “went about doing good,” and His followers are called to the same.

But goodness is not something we muster on our own. Left to ourselves, we are sinful and selfish. The Spirit produces goodness in us as we yield to Him. He changes our desires, reshapes our motives, and empowers us to live in a way that brings light to a dark world.

In a society that often celebrates evil, goodness shines brightly. Every act of goodness—done in Christ’s name and Spirit’s power—is a seed that bears eternal fruit.
