Every family is writing a story—and what we pass down to the next generation matters far more than money, houses, or heirlooms. The greatest inheritance we can leave our children is a legacy of faith. Psalm 78:4 says, “We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done.”
A legacy of faith is built day by day—through prayer, through Scripture, through conversations, and through living out what we believe. When children see their parents walk with Christ in the joys and storms of life, they are watching faith become real. They’re not just hearing about Jesus—they’re seeing Him in action.
You may never see the full fruit of your spiritual investment in your family—but don’t grow weary. Galatians 6:9 reminds us that “in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Your faithfulness today is preparing your children—and perhaps even your grandchildren—to walk with God tomorrow.
So keep reading the Word together. Keep praying. Keep showing up to church. Keep speaking the truth in love. Long after you’re gone, your testimony will still be echoing in the lives of those who came after you.
