Romans 6:4
“Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
The resurrection is not only something Christ did—it is something believers now live from. Paul connects the empty tomb directly to daily obedience. Resurrection power was never meant to stay in history; it was meant to reshape how we walk today.
“Newness of life” does not mean a polished version of the old self. It means something genuinely new has begun. Old patterns no longer rule. Old graves no longer define us. Resurrection power introduces a new way forward where sin once dictated direction.
Paul’s language is intentional. Just as surely as Christ rose, believers are called to walk differently. The resurrection does not excuse passivity—it empowers obedience. Grace does not lower the call; it supplies the strength.
Many believers struggle here because they treat resurrection as a past event rather than a present reality. But the same glory that raised Christ fuels transformation in us. Change is not achieved by willpower alone—it flows from resurrection life.
This truth brings hope to those discouraged by slow growth. Newness does not mean instant perfection; it means a new direction. Resurrection power sustains progress even when it feels gradual.
Ask God today where He is calling you to walk differently. Not striving, but trusting. The tomb is empty so your life does not have to remain stuck.
Because Christ lives, you can walk forward.
