Technology is a powerful tool—but without careful stewardship, it can quietly become a family’s greatest threat. Phones, tablets, and televisions can either serve God’s purposes or subtly erode the spiritual strength of a home. Ephesians 5:15-16 warns us, “See then that ye walk circumspectly… redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”
Technology itself is not the enemy—but unfiltered access, constant distraction, and worldly content are. As Christian parents, we must take seriously the call to lead our families wisely in the digital age. That means setting boundaries, modeling healthy habits, and regularly evaluating how technology is being used in our home.
Make it a priority to protect mealtimes, devotional times, and rest from screen interference. Encourage your children to engage with the real world—reading, serving, playing, talking. Equip them with the tools to discern content and make godly choices. And be honest about your own habits. Children will copy what they see more than what they’re told.
Technology should serve your home, not master it. Invite the Lord into your digital decisions. Use screens for good, but guard your hearts diligently—and never forget that real connection begins with Christ and thrives in the context of family.
