Proverbs 31:10–12 — “Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.”
Marriage is a sacred gift designed by God, and Proverbs exalts the blessing of a virtuous spouse. A godly marriage is marked by trust, faithfulness, and mutual commitment to one another’s good. Such a relationship is worth far more than riches.
The virtuous woman described in Proverbs 31 is a treasure to her husband. His heart safely trusts her because she lives with integrity. Her love is steadfast, her work diligent, and her commitment unwavering. She does him good, not evil, all her life. This is wisdom lived out in the home.
The same principle applies to husbands. Scripture calls them to love their wives as Christ loved the church—sacrificially, faithfully, and with steadfast devotion. A godly marriage is built on both partners reflecting the character of Christ in their roles.
Marriage rooted in wisdom blesses not only the couple but also the children and community around them. It is a testimony of God’s love and faithfulness to the watching world. When a husband and wife walk in integrity and grace, their marriage becomes a living parable of Christ and His church.
In a world of broken promises and fragile relationships, a godly marriage stands as a beacon of hope. It shows that when Christ is the foundation, love endures, trust is secure, and joy abounds.
