Every structure needs a solid foundation—and the same is true for the home. A house may have beautiful furniture and strong walls, but if the foundation is weak, the whole thing is at risk. Jesus said in Matthew 7:24–25, “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock… And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.”

A godly home is one where Christ is not just invited in, but is the cornerstone of everything. His Word is the guide, His Spirit is the presence, and His glory is the aim. When a family builds on the rock of Christ, they will be able to withstand storms—be they financial, emotional, cultural, or spiritual. It doesn’t mean they’ll be exempt from difficulty, but it means they’ll stand through it.

Building this kind of home doesn’t happen by accident. It takes intention, prayer, and a daily return to God’s truth. It means dads and moms modeling faith, humility, and grace. It means children being nurtured in love and discipline that reflects the heart of God. It means putting first things first—beginning with Jesus.

As we begin this month, ask yourself: What is my home built on? If cracks have formed, it’s not too late to start again. Christ is a sure foundation. He is ready to build something lasting and strong in your home—if you’ll let Him.
