Sometimes faith looks like showing up—and sometimes it looks like carrying someone else. In Mark 2, four unnamed men brought their paralyzed friend to Jesus, only to find the house too crowded to enter. But they didn’t give up. Instead, they climbed onto the roof, tore through it, and lowered their friend down to where Jesus was. “When Jesus saw their faith, he said… Son, thy sins be forgiven thee” (Mark 2:5).
Notice—Jesus saw their faith. These friends believed not just for themselves, but for someone who couldn’t get to Jesus on his own. Their determination, teamwork, and compassion opened the door to both physical healing and spiritual transformation. They didn’t need titles or positions—just love and faith in action.
This story reminds us of the power of intercessory faith. Who are you carrying to Jesus? A loved one in need of salvation? A friend in crisis? Your prayers, presence, and persistence may be what it takes to bring someone to the Savior’s feet.
Today, ask God to make you the kind of friend who lifts others up and brings them to Jesus. Be the one who stands in the gap. You don’t need to be famous—just faithful.
