Revelation 7:9 — “After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands.”
The final picture of the harvest in Scripture is not of judgment but of joy—a great multitude gathered before the throne, redeemed from every nation, tribe, and tongue. This is the ultimate harvest home, where the saints of God are gathered to worship the Lamb forever.
The vision of Revelation 7 reminds us that the gospel is global. The field is the world, and the harvest will include people from every corner of the earth. No culture, language, or nation is beyond the reach of Christ’s redeeming love. One day, heaven will resound with the voices of countless believers, united in praise.
For weary laborers, this picture is a source of hope. Every seed planted, every prayer offered, every soul won contributes to this final gathering. We may never see the full results of our labor on earth, but one day we will stand in that great multitude and rejoice at what God has done.
This passage also reminds us that missions is not optional. The Lamb deserves worship from every nation, and the harvest will not be complete until the gospel has gone to all peoples. Our part may seem small, but together, the church fulfills this mission through giving, praying, and going.
The great harvest home is certain. The redeemed will be gathered, the nations will rejoice, and the Lamb will be exalted. Until that day, let us labor faithfully, looking forward to the eternal joy of standing in that multitude.
