1 Corinthians 15:58 — “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”

Paul’s words to the Corinthians are like a rallying cry to weary workers. The resurrection of Christ guarantees that no effort for the Lord is wasted. Because Jesus lives, every act of service, every word of witness, and every tear shed in prayer has eternal value. Labor in the Lord is never in vain.

Faithfulness is the emphasis here. Paul calls believers to be steadfast and unmoveable. In a world of shifting values and fleeting commitments, God desires workers who will stay the course. The faithful worker is not swayed by opposition, discouraged by setbacks, or distracted by lesser things. He remains steady because he knows whom he serves.

Abounding in the work of the Lord means more than doing the minimum. It means serving with zeal, going the extra mile, and giving our best for the glory of God. The harvest is too important for half-hearted labor. Souls are at stake, and eternity is in view.

The reward of the faithful worker is both present and future. In the present, there is joy in knowing we are pleasing the Lord. In the future, there will be crowns to cast at His feet, eternal recognition of what was done for His name. The world may never notice, but heaven keeps careful record.

This promise should inspire perseverance. When you feel like your labor is unseen, remember that God sees. When you wonder if it matters, remember that eternity says it does. When you are tempted to quit, remember that the harvest is coming.

The call is clear: be steadfast, unmoveable, and abounding. Your labor for Christ is never wasted. Press on, and trust that God will reward every faithful effort.
