Grandparents are a precious gift—and their influence in the spiritual health of a family cannot be overstated. While the world may view grandparents as “retired,” Scripture paints them as essential elders and encouragers. Psalm 145:4 says, “One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.”

Grandparents have a unique opportunity to speak truth into their grandchildren’s lives with wisdom, tenderness, and love. Their stories of God’s faithfulness become faith-builders. Their prayers provide covering. Their example—whether quiet or vocal—becomes a steady anchor in a child’s spiritual development.

Don’t underestimate your voice, your time, or your testimony. A word of encouragement, a Bible verse shared, or simply a life lived with consistent devotion can leave an eternal mark. Timothy’s faith was shaped by the sincere faith of his grandmother Lois and his mother Eunice (2 Timothy 1:5)—proof that generational faith is powerful.

If you're a grandparent, keep investing. Stay engaged. Ask how you can pray. Share what God has taught you. Whether your grandchildren are near or far, your legacy is still being written—and it’s making a difference.
