Jesus once sat in the temple watching people give their offerings. The wealthy gave large amounts, but then came a poor widow with two small coins. Mark 12:43–44 says, “Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury… she of her want did cast in all that she had.” She didn’t give out of abundance—she gave out of trust.
This moment captured the heart of sacrificial giving. The widow’s gift was small in the eyes of man, but great in the eyes of God. She held nothing back. She didn’t calculate what was left—she trusted the Lord with it all. Her story continues to teach generations about what it means to give from the heart.
Giving isn’t about the amount. It’s about the attitude. God isn’t moved by dollar signs—He’s moved by devotion. The widow’s two mites remind us that when we give from a place of faith, even the smallest offering becomes a holy sacrifice.
Today, don’t underestimate your ability to give—whether it's time, resources, or love. When offered in faith, God will multiply it in ways you may never see. Give boldly. Give joyfully. Give when it hurts. Because He gave everything for you.
