Romans 6:23
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Paul brings the Gospel into sharp focus with contrast. Sin pays wages. Death is earned. Eternal life, by contrast, is a gift. Revival restores this clarity, refusing to blur what Scripture keeps distinct.
Death here is more than physical—it is separation from God. Sin promises freedom but delivers bondage. It pays exactly what it owes, and the cost is devastating. Evangelism must not hide this truth.
Yet the verse does not end in despair. Grace interrupts. “But the gift of God…” Revival always holds judgment and mercy together. To preach one without the other distorts the message.
A gift cannot be earned. It must be received. Revival restores this simplicity in a culture obsessed with self-improvement. Salvation is not achieved—it is accepted.
This truth shapes how we speak. We do not threaten; we testify. We do not manipulate; we proclaim. The contrast itself carries power.
Ask God today to help you speak this truth with gravity and hope. Sin is deadly—but grace is greater. And the Gospel remains the greatest news the world has ever heard.
